Job Description

We have athriving Transportation practice with a close-knit, team-oriented group that is growing rapidly. Due to our ongoing success, we continue to add experienced managers to support our clients to develop and deliver communications strategies and high-quality deliverables that clearly convey technical content for understanding by a range of stakeholders.

Across the Mid-Atlantic region, STV manages on-call contracts with state, regional, and local government agencies including the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority, Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, Hampton Roads Transit, Greater Richmond Transit, Fairfax County Department of Transportation, Montgomery County Maryland DOT, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Arlington County Virginia, the District of Columbia DOT, and others.

This position offers excellent potential for positive impact and career advancement as this individual would assist a range of clients in effectively structuring and delivering their capital program strategies and providing active support and guidance to grow client and consultant team staff capacity through the project work.

The ideal candidate is an individual who has extensive experience managing internal and external stakeholder communications strategy and execution for large projects and programs. The candidate is a strong leader and mentor, with the desire to build a team that delivers high-quality products in a fast-paced and supportive team setting. The candidate will play a major role in building senior level client relationships, identifying agency needs, and developing new business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setup and administration of programs and projects, including quality management, project controls, and team configuration

  • Coordination of design development and managing the timeline and scope of the project

  • Lead the stakeholder communications team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget

  • Organizing project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team

  • Establishing working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers

  • Mentoring supporting other communications managers and design staff

  • Assist with the development of work scopes and cost estimates

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Design Management, Business, or related field

  • Professional Certification in Project Management, Public Communications, or other applicable licensure or certification

  • Transportation Program client experience at the municipal and/or state level

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in transit and transportation capital projects, with increasing levels of responsibility

  • Proven management experience on programs and projects exceeding $500 million in capital cost

Compensation Range:

$103,870.00 - $138,493.00
