Positions Location: Lansing, MI
General Purpose of Job:
Perform a variety of duties associated with obtaining, transporting, storing and distributing supplies and materials utilized by the hospital's departments under direct supervision.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Receive and sign for all express and freight deliveries. Verify packer for correct quantity, product and unit of measure.
- Perform adjustments and corrections on items and receipts as assigned.
- Check for physical damage for all capital equipment and photograph any damage.
- Obtain signatures from freight companies and vendors for all outgoing materials.
- Package and label Federal Express and UPS shipments.
- Load, transport, deliver supplies, materials, equipment to all areas of Health System and non-affiliated sites.
- Determine priority runs from regular runs.
- Take calls from departments for stat truck runs. Schedule or page drivers on priority basis of call. Calls freight companies for date and time of pickups.
- Follow routine maintenance checks (i.e., fluid levels) on vehicles, per mechanic's schedule. Advise supervisor of any repairs.
- Able to perform all of the job duties of the Supply Chain Tech I.
General Requirements | * Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record. * Acquire and maintain a Chauffeur license within 3 months of hire. * Acquire and maintain a powered industrial truck permit within 3 months of hire. |
Work Experience | * Demonstrated strong performance for a minimum of 2 years in the Supply Chain Tech I role or equivalent experience in a supply chain management role |
Education | * High school diploma or GED |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills | * The physical abilities necessary to lift and deliver a variety of supplies and materials. * Ability to operate a motorized pallet truck and other material handling equipment. * Demonstrated verbal, written and oral communication skills. * Demonstrates responsibility to ensure safe, timely, cost effective flow of supplies and capital equipment on priority basis. |
