Job Description
The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Skilled Pit Laborer/Heavy Equipment Operator to work at our Grange Hall location in Holly, MI.
The Skilled Pit Laborer performs various manual labor tasks around the plant. The Skilled Pit Laborer will also assist in the maintenance of plant and equipment; including welding and fabricating projects. Experience operating an end loader is a plus!
Shift: Days - 12 hour shifts
Pay: $23.05/hr

Responsibilities
The Skilled Pit Laborer will:
- Examine machinery for maintenance concerns
- Monitor and adjust pumping mechanism
- Load trucks and hoppers efficiently with correct materials, maintain stockpiles, check inventory levels
- Comply with all company and MSHA safety rules and regulations
- Perform pre-shift safety inspection
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge in operating a suction dredge
- Experience in operating an end loader to load trucks, feed plants and manage stockpiles
- Experience operating a 36-ton haul truck for in-plant material movement
- Knowledge of materials and specifications requirements
- Knowledge of belts and conveyors
- Ability to identify and assist in repair of mechanical malfunctions
- Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers
- Familiarity with loading/ unloading procedures and truck capacities
- Intermediate mechanical and welding skills
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Work outside for an extended periods of time, and tolerate noise and temperature variations
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and crawl
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
