Job Description

Our Innovation Units pilot and optimize technology, including a brand-new state-of-the-art mentoring program (Pilot Coming Summer 2024) providing 24/7 real-time virtual access to guidance with an experienced nurse in the room. Your virtual nurse will collaborate with you in your assignment to decrease documentation burden, assist in clinical escalation, and allow you to spend more time on the nursing care you want to deliver. We are better together!

Our Innovation Units Include:

  • 6 West- Orthopedics
    • This is a 33-bed Medical/Surgical Orthopedics/Trauma unit that is certified through The Joint Commission for total joint surgical patients. Common patient populations include: total joint replacements, foot and ankle surgery, telemetry, general medical patients, and major fractures as well as major trauma. 6 west is equipped with a physical therapy gym for the rehab needs of the patients. The nursing team works closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and orthopedic advance practice providers.
  • 9 West- Neurosciences
    • This is a 30-bed Intermediate Care Neurological/Trauma unit that is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center caring for patients with neurologic and general conditions. Common patient populations include: laminectomy, anterior cervical discectomy, seizure, migraine, telemetry, encephalopathy, TIAand CVA.

Job Requirements
General Requirements * Current Michigan license as a Registered Nurse * Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of hire
Education * Associate degree in Nursing
Specialized Knowledge and Skills * Clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to deliver quality patient care. * Interpersonal skills for effective communication. * Computer literate
