Summary
The Shipping and Receiving associate is responsible and accountable for verifying and keeping records on incoming raw material and outgoing shipments and accurately prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards. The Shipping and Receiving associate oversees the organization and inventory of all finished goods and material.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safe operation of forklift and other necessary equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of raw material, finished goods and all binders
- Maintenance and cleaning of incoming raw material inventory area and raw material organization
- Sort raw material for contaminants and sizing feedstock for specific markets
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
- Prepares packaging Urethane/Latex and Aliphatic binders for outgoing orders (ie: Drums, Totes, Pails)
- Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: preparing and affixing shipping labels or stencils identifying shipping information for pails/drums/totes/skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required
- Records on Bills of Lading, empty full sheet, Julian Dates and product specific numbers
- With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolving problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form
- General housekeeping, maintenance & organization of the dock, inventory areas and material storage buildings
- Understand and uphold quality standards, methods and reporting as required
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Safe and proper loading or offloading of product, goods, etc.
- Hazardous Material Handling training and compliance
- Attendance at necessary company meetings (shipper meeting, ops. meeting)
- Other duties that may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor
