Responsibilities

Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan opened in October 2017 as a beautiful and state of the art 54-bed facility. Cedar Creek provides evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health issues. Cedar Creek Hospital invests in our patients by offering an integrated medicine approach that provides the latest therapies including yoga, mindfulness, aromatherapy, music therapy and nutrition. As part of our success and innovation in the field we are seeking qualified applicants for a Health Information Clerk position.

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Health Information Director, processes medical records by assembling, analyzing for deficiencies, and logging in log books. Helps maintain complete and incomplete medical record files. Performs the release of information function, provides data retrieval for quality assessment and assists the Health Information Director in maintaining the daily functioning of the department.

Qualifications

Health Information Clerk Job Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a medical record department setting, preferred.
  2. Registered Health Information Technician, or eligible, preferred.
  3. Knowledge of medical terminology required
  4. High school graduate or equivalent required.
  5. College level courses in medical record sciences, preferred.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required with an ability to follow written and oral instruction, yet take the initiative to follow policy and procedures without a great deal of direct supervision.
  7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  8. Typing skills of 50 wpm required, along with previous experience working with personal computer.
  9. Demonstrates initiative and positive attitude.
