Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Power System Studies Engineer.

Minimum 10 years related experience with High Voltage Transmission System studies using PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN or CAPE

Knowledge of NERC reliability requirements and regional reliability councils such as PJM, MISO, NPCC, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ERCOT, NYISO

Ability to perform analytical studies and review work by others regarding power supply systems up to 500 kV:

  • Steady-state power flow
  • Dynamic stability
  • Voltage collapse
  • Transient system performance
  • Short-circuit calculations
  • Transmission line constants
  • Dynamic transmission line element ratings
  • System Impact Studies
  • Generator Interconnection Studies
  • Breaker coordination and relay settings

Other preferred skills:

  • Experience with 500 kV phase shifting transformers, dynamic breaking resistors, and filter banks a plus.
  • Proficient with SEL acSELerator software.
  • PE or ability to obtain one within one year strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Organized and detail oriented when documenting and performing tasks.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills and ability to interact with peers, project partners, utilities, and independent system operators.

Base Compensation: $34.71 - $45.48
