Job Summary
The Service Technician role in La Porte, Texas, ensures terminal tractors, trucks, and other equipment are maintained and serviced following company standards. This position provides optimal, safe, and fully functional equipment for customers. It involves using various hand and power tools and working directly with the Operations Manager to deliver excellent service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Utilize hand and power tools for vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Assist in equipment setup and dispatch.
- Follow service procedures and safety practices, using checklists to ensure safety compliance.
- Inspect equipment regularly for damage, safety issues, and maintenance needs.
- Report damaged equipment to the Operations Manager immediately.
- Refer repairs to a Maintenance Mechanic using the reporting system.
- Replace tires as needed and recover disabled equipment.
- Maintain a neat appearance of leased fleet vehicles.
- Document work hours, equipment usage, parts used, and work performed.
- Wear personal protective equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
